Ragnhild Lothe

Biography

Ragnhild Lothe (born 1975) grew up in Bodø in Northern Norway, and she studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Prof Frøydis Ree Wekre.  At the age of 24, she was offered the position as Co-Principal horn in Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and the same year she became a member of the Bit20ensemble.

 

From 2001 she has been regularly engaged as Principal Horn in Mahler Chamber Orchestra, with whom she has done recordings, concerts and opera. To play with MCO under the direction of conductor Claudio Abbado has been particular highlights, in among other repertory Beethoven`s Fidelio and Symphony no 3 (Eroica)

Ragnhild has played with all the professional orchestras in Norway, and in the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. She has played chamber music at several Norwegian festivals, such as the Bergen International
