Hilde Haraldsen Sveen

Biography

Hilde Haraldsen Sveen was schooled at the Agder Music Conservatory and Hochschule der Künste, Berlin.

In 2001, she had her debut at the Norwegian Opera as Gilda in Rigoletto, and since then has had several major roles there, most recently as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier. Her versatility has made her a sought-after singer for oratorios, concerts, and ballads alike.

 

She has made several CD recordings featuring Norwegian music. The latest recordings were parts for soprano in several compositions by Ketil Hvoslef; Ketil Hvoslef Chamber Works II and III (2016), and no. IV (2019) released by Lawo Classics.

Hilde Haraldsen is Associate Professor in song at The Grieg Academy Department of Music, University of Bergen.
