Daniela Braun

Biografi

Daniela was born in Potsdam and had an early musical education. She studied violin at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy and University of Arts in Berlin with Joachim Hantzschk, Antje Weithaas and Eberhard Feltz (string quartet), followed by masterclasses with Christoph Poppen, Aleksandar Ivic and Mauricio Fuks. She played in the orchestral academies of Berlin Broadcasting Symphony and Staatsoper Berlin. From 2006 to 2011 she was concertmaster of the Second violins at Staatskapelle Berlin. In 2011 she became concertmaster of the Seconds in the Komische Oper Berlin. She teaches at the academies of the Berlin opera houses as well as at West Eastern Divan Orchestra. In addition she performes as baroque violinist- as soloist and with ensembles like Lautten Compagney. In front of all her focus lies on chamber music. She was first violin of the Abraxas String Quartett, prizewinning ensemble in Tromp Competition Eindhoven. Since 2011 she is a member of Glorvigen Trio, playing Tango and contemporary Music in venues like Berlin Philharmonie, Bruxelles Bozar or Rheingau Festival. Part of her work are projects with singers and actors- latest: „Sehnsucht“ with Dagmar Manzel and „Ich wollt ich wär ein Huhn“ with Anne Sophie von Otter and Wolfram Koch. She recorded several CDs with pianists Frank Lubnow and Fumiko Shiraga and played with Christian Ihle Hadland and Hendrik Heilmann. In 2020 she started to play in Max Brod Trio, working on a Beethoven Piano Trio cycle.
