Arnulf Ballhorn

Biografi

Arnulf Ballhorn was born in Singen am Hohentwiel. After studying double bass with Prof. Rainer Zepperitz at the UdK Berlin, he began his work in 1999 in the orchestra of the Komische Opera Berlin. It is difficult to narrow down his musical preferences:

Besides playing in the orchestra, contemporary music chamber music are just as much a part of his musical as jazz and tango and the intensive work with the electric bass. He was inspired by courses and lessons with bassists such as Miroslav Vitous, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Gary Willis and Jonas Hellborg, but also the Glorvigen-Trio and the work with the actress and singer Dagmar Manzel always offer new challenges. Arnulf Ballhorn runs his own label and studio.
