Classical Weekend: Opus 13 and Leif Ove Andsnes

Opus13 has in a short time established itself as one of the most exciting young chamber music ensembles internationally. The quartet consists of the Norwegian violinists Sonoko Miriam Welde and Edvard Erdal, together with Albin Uusijärvi on viola and Daniel Thorell on cello.
This evening, you will also hear them perform together with one of the world's leading pianists, Leif Ove Andsnes.

Welcome to a concert with Opus 13 and Leif Ove Andsnes!

In the spring of 2025, Opus13 won first prize in both the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition and the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, and has in a short time established itself as one of the most exciting young ensembles on the international chamber music scene. The quartet consists of the Norwegian violinists Sonoko Miriam Welde and Edvard Erdal, as well as Albin Uusijärvi on viola and Daniel Thorell on cello, both from Sweden.

In addition to performing classical works by composers such as Mozart, Bartók, and Schubert, Opus13 are strong ambassadors for Nordic music, both classical and contemporary. In Norway, they have performed at most of the country’s major chamber music festivals, from Bergen and Stavanger to Rosendal, Trondheim, and Risør.

In this concert, they will also play together with pianist Leif Ove Andsnes. The New York Times has called Leif Ove Andsnes “a pianist of magisterial elegance, power, and insight,” and the Wall Street Journal has proclaimed him “one of the most gifted musicians of his generation.” With superb technique and innovative interpretations, the renowned Norwegian pianist has captivated audiences worldwide. He has played concerts and recitals in the world’s most famous concert halls and with the leading orchestras, while also recording a long series of critically acclaimed albums.

Andsnes is passionate about chamber music. He was the founder and artistic director of Rosendal Kammermusikkfestival, and continues his work as artistic director for Baroniet Rosendal.

We have created different types of packages that includes dinner and accommodation:

  • Concert and 3-course dinner in Ridderstuen ca. 15 minutes after the concert.
  • Concert, 3-course dinner in Ridderstuen ca. 15 minutes after the concert and accommodation with breakfast, on Rosendal Avlsgård & Fruehus (the most used room has a sink, whereas shared shower and toilet are in the hallway).

If one of the tickets are sold out, there may still be other kinds of tickets available for the same event. Please see events list.

Most likely problems:

  • If the Continue button is grey, normally the required fields have not been filled in properly. The most common mistake is phone number with space in the end or some other sign. Please try 00000000 (just 8 zeros) to be able to move on. We still have your email address for shipping your tickets.
  • No printer at home? No email received? No worries, as long as the purchase is OK (money has actually left your account), you are on our lists. Just tell us which email address was used for the purchase, and we will find your order.
  • The event might be sold out even if the home page button is not updated with "sold out". The appearing message "Beklager utsolgt" means "Sorry, sold out". You may send an email to info@baroniet.no to be in a waiting list. In case of extra tickets we will handle the waiting list in the order of time and date on the emails.
  • Some banks have added extra security on Internet shopping. It is then required to log on to the Internet bank to approve the purchase.
  • If your computer is set up with the wrong date, a common certificate error message will appear. Just ignore and move on.
