The Baron’s daughter Julie has had a turbulent upbringing at the Barony.
It is Midsummer’s Eve at the Barony. In the manor kitchen, the Count’s daughter Julie and the servant Jean meet, two people from different worlds who never should have approached each other. As the night wears on, the boundaries between them gradually blur: between upper class and servitude, between power and powerlessness, between who we are and who we long to be.
Julie is the nobleman’s daughter who has always tried to break the boundaries around her. Jean is the servant looking for every opportunity to take a step up. Also in the kitchen is Kristin, engaged to Jean and bound by duty. A game grows between Julie and Jean that pulls them from several sides – attraction, pride, submission, and fighting spirit – and Kristin witnesses something she cannot stop.
Strindberg’s classic is a raw and precise study of how class, gender, and desire can tear people apart. An intense and merciless story about boundaries being broken and the price that follows.

Director
Svein Sturla Hungnes
Svein Sturla Hungnes is a Norwegian actor and director, and former theatre director. He had his breakthrough at Nationaltheatret in 1970. From 2002–2009, he was the theatre director at Oslo Nye Teater, where he directed major musicals such as Les Misérables and Chicago. He directed Peer Gynt at Gålåvatnet for 25 years, and also played the title role himself for thirteen years.
Cast
Susann Bugge Kambestad (Julie)
Educated at Teaterhøgskolen, she made her debut at Den Nationale Scene in Anne Franks dagbok in 2013. She has since played a number of roles, including Ronja in Ronja Røverdatter, Gina Ekdal in Vildanden, and participated in Arv og miljø, Sult, Scener frå eit ekteskap, Det blæs på månen, and De urolige.
Hugo Mikal Skår (Jean)
Educated at NISS. He has worked at both Teatret Vårt and Rogaland Teater, playing central roles in Othello, Festen, Daniel 33, and The Black Rider. Since 2022, he has been affiliated with Den Nationale Scene, where he has participated in productions such as Come From Away, Romeo og Julie, Billy Elliot, and Så som i himmelen.
Reny Marie Gaassand Folgerø (Kristin)
Educated at Statens Teaterhøgskole (2001). She debuted the same year at Den Nationale Scene in Heksene, and has since played a wide range of roles, including Nora in Et dukkehjem, leading roles in Blå jakt and Blackbird, and central roles in Måken, Anne Pedersdotter, Hotel Norge, Arv og miljø, and Romeo og Julie.

Most likely problems:
If the Continue button is grey, normally the required fields have not been filled in properly. The most common mistake is phone number with space in the end or some other sign. Please try 00000000 (just 8 zeros) to be able to move on. We still have your email address for shipping your tickets.
No printer at home? No email received? No worries, as long as the purchase is OK (money has actually left your account), you are on our lists. Just tell us which email address was used for the purchase, and we will find your order.
The event might be sold out even if the home page button is not updated with "sold out". The appearing message "Beklager utsolgt" means "Sorry, sold out". You may send an email to info@baroniet.no to be in a waiting list. In case of extra tickets we will handle the waiting list in the order of time and date on the emails.
Some banks have added extra security on Internet shopping. It is then required to log on to the Internet bank to approve the purchase.
If your computer is set up with the wrong date, a common certificate error message will appear. Just ignore and move on.
