Bjørn Eidsvåg – Summer 2026
After half a century in the music industry, Bjørn Eidsvåg stands as a pillar of Norwegian music, and for many years he has performed around 80 concerts every single year in all corners of the country. Following an eventful autumn and winter with concerts and a new show, he is ready to take the festival stages in the summer of 2026.
In autumn 2025, Bjørn is featured in the performance “Bjørn og Bjarte – den tøffe og den sarte” together with TV host and comedian Bjarte Tjøstheim, which is touring to packed venues across the country. Even after a long and solid career, Bjørn continues to be active with new projects and creative endeavours. After his participation in the TV2 programme “Hver gang vi møtes” in 2023, where both Bjørn’s own interpretations and his fellow artists’ renditions of Bjørn’s songs topped the charts, Bjørn was inspired to “renovate” his own songs in new arrangements. Right after the success of “Hver gang vi møtes”, Bjørn entered into a collaboration with the 40-years-younger star producer Carl-Viktor Guttormsen, who was behind Emma Steinbakken’s version of Floden, which went straight to the top of the charts and became the most played song on Spotify in Norway in 2023. Since then, Bjørn, together with producers Carl-Viktor Guttormsen and Anders Kjær, has released a series of new songs – including new versions of classics such as Skyfri himmel, Ringdans and Tør ikkje leva.
Since his start in 1971, Bjørn has released 28 albums, performed around 80 concerts each year, published books, hosted his own TV and radio programmes, and appeared on stage at Det Norske Teatret with his self-written theatrical performance “Etterlyst: Jesus” – to name a few. Generations of Norwegians have a close relationship with his beloved songs like Skyfri himmel and Eg ser. Bjørn’s curiosity about new musical expressions has also led to many exciting collaborations with renowned artists from Norway, Sweden and Denmark over the years, including the duet Mysteriet deg with Lisa Nilsson. The song won the Spellemannprisen for “Song of the Year” and has over 15 million streams on Spotify.
In 2024, Bjørn turned 70 and was surprised with a sold-out Oslo Spektrum at the surprise concert “Ingen veg tilbake”, which was broadcast on NRK1 and became the sixth most watched programme on NRK in 2024. Later that same year, he embarked on a major anniversary tour with the same name, breaking sales records with over 25,000 tickets sold even before the tour began. In autumn 2024, Bjørn and his long career and contribution to Norwegian music were also honoured with induction into the Rockheim Hall of Fame.
