Alma Kraggerud and Natallia Papova!

Norwegian violinist Alma Serafin Kraggerud (born 2006) began playing the violin at the age of five and has studied with, among others, Peter Herresthal and Alf Richard Kraggerud. She made her debut as a soloist with Kringkastingsorkestret at just nine years old during the gala concert for the royal families of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Since then, she has been a soloist with several orchestras, including Stavanger Symfoniorkester, Trondheim Symfoniorkester, and the Arctic Philharmonic.

Kraggerud has performed at festivals both in Norway and internationally, and performed, among other works, the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61 by Ludwig van Beethoven during Nordland Musikkfestuke in connection with Bodø 2024 – European Capital of Culture. In 2022, she won Virtuos on NRK, as well as Den Norske Solistpris. That same year, Oslo-Filharmonien performed her orchestral work The Untold Myth. In the spring of 2025, she premiered the role of the “fiddle player” in the opera Asle og Alida by Bent Sørensen, with a libretto by Jon Fosse. In 2026, she also played music by Jean Sibelius with Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester. Alma plays an Antonio Stradivarius “ex-Karl Klingler” violin from 1720, on loan from Anders Sveaas’ Allmennyttige Fond.

In this concert, she plays together with pianist Natallia Papova. Natallia Papova, originally from Belarus, began playing the piano at the age of six. She received her bachelor’s degree in piano in Minsk under Zoya Kacharskaya and her master’s degree in piano performance at Norges musikkhøgskole (2006–2009), where she studied with Håvard Gimse, Leif Ove Andsnes, and Liv Glaser. She has also had masterclasses with, among others, Robert Levin, Malcolm Bilson, and Bart van Oort.

For the past twenty years, Papova has been employed as an accompanist and chamber musician at Barratt Due musikkinstitutt, and has also had engagements at Norges musikkhøgskole. She has participated in festivals such as Oslo Kammermusikkfestival, Festspillene i Bergen, and Valdres Sommersymfoni. Papova has also been a pianist and accompanist at competitions and programs such as Midgardkonkurransen, Virtuos, and Ungdommens musikkmesterskap. She won first prize in the piano competition at the Minsk Conservatory in 2003, was a semifinalist in the M. K. Čiurlionis International Piano Competition, and received third prize (duo) in the Nordic Kokkola Lied Competition in 2007.
